Kingslin graduated from Singapore Bible College with a Master of Arts in Counselling in 2018, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from University of Sydney in 2010.
Prior to her counselling career, Kingslin worked as a senior mental health occupational therapist in both hospital and community settings in Singapore. She enjoys working with a diverse population, from adolescents, adults to older adults. Her exposure to patients from all walks of life have enabled her to effectively engage her clients in counselling, and empathise deeply with the profound and often complex nature of pain in their lives.
Kingslin is interested to work with individuals with a wide range of psychological issues, such as attachment injuries, mood and anxiety disorders, and trauma. She has worked with individuals in schools, half-way house and girl’s home as well as in private practice. As a certified emotionally focused couples therapist (EFCT), she journeys with couples in conflict to navigate difficult emotions and challenges that arise in their relationships, to work towards improving communication, and rebuilding trust and intimacy in their marriage.
Kingslin adopts a person-centred approach in counselling, and draws from a variety of approaches such as emotion focused therapy, cognitive behavioural strategies, narrative therapy and solution focused brief therapy to understand her clients' needs and help them achieve their goals in a realistic and concrete way.
Kingslin believes in emphatic listening, authentic connection, and creating a safe space for her clients as she journeys with them towards finding meaning and healing in their lives.
In her free time, Kingslin enjoys cooking and baking, and sharing them with others. She loves reading books with a nice cup of coffee to wind down and relax, when she is not chasing her toddler around.
Kingslin provides therapy in English and Mandarin, but is more proficient in English.
